It is often the case, especially with an open, semi-open, or low-amplification fit, that a hearing aid wearer will notice a slightly out-of-sync, ‘metallic’ sound associated with the hearing aid.
 
This ‘comb filter effect’ is due to the delay between the sound processing of the hearing aids and sound traveling naturally to the ear through domes or venting.
 
ZeroDelay, introduced in the Widex Moment, works by intelligently and rapidly processing the sound with an extremely low-millisecond (near-zero) delay, which makes such a tinny sound effect virtually imperceivable to the human ear.
